What riding here is like
Wind concentrates from July to January and is most reliable from August through December.
At Quebra Mar the tide transforms the spot: the reef shelters some chop and, with enough water, shapes waves on the outside. Coral, shallows, current, and the wave peak demand solid kite control and local knowledge; this is not a launch for an independent beginner. Schools may teach according to tide and conditions, but riders who cannot stay upwind should follow the instructor's choice of a safer section.

Frequently asked questions
When is the best time to kitesurf in Paracuru?
The best season in Paracuru runs from August to November, with up to 99% of days historically kiteable at the peak.
Is Paracuru good for beginners?
Paracuru suits riders who already stay upwind: mixed water. Beginners will find better conditions at other spots in the region.
How do I get to Paracuru?
Paracuru is about 95 km from Fortaleza airport (FOR), normally a one-and-a-half to two-hour drive. Quebra Mar sits outside the town center and the final leg is best by transfer, car, or a school-arranged buggy. Do not count on finding a ride-hailing car back late in the day; fix the return before launching.
What to do in Paracuru when there is no wind?
Explore the municipality's cliffs and beaches, wander through town and its market, or make a day trip to Lagoinha. At low tide, walk the coast only in safe areas: the same reef that shapes the wave leaves coral exposed.
