What the season feels like

Wind concentrates from July to January and is most reliable from August through December. At Quebra Mar the tide transforms the spot: the reef shelters some chop and, with enough water, shapes waves on the outside. Coral, shallows, current, and the wave peak demand solid kite control and local knowledge; this is not a launch for an independent beginner. Schools may teach according to tide and conditions, but riders who cannot stay upwind should follow the instructor's choice of a safer section.
